I have decided to embark upon a goal for 2012, just one of many. It is to create a painting a day, for all 365 days of the year. All of them will be 2 inches by 2 inches, and this work to the left is actually for January 3rd. For the 2nd, see below. For the 1st, see above. For all subsequent days, look below.

Coupled with this endeavor, another goal is to blog every day of the year as well, so please do access my blog via this link, and peruse my past postings there. (This has proved rather trying, so bear with me as I attempt to accomplish these goals.)

I hope you enjoy these miniature paintings and if you wish to comment, send along an email my way.

Here is the gallery of miniatures that I will add on a daily basis (well, hopefully...) and just hover over each painting to get the title. Click on the image to enlarge, and to access the next painting.

The new year is here, and I do hope that everyone had a wonderful and safe holiday weekend.

Some new info here as the Art Center at 111 Main Street in Southbridge has a new drawing class that has recently developed.

I have been modeling there, on Wednesday nights, from 6:30-9:30pm, but unfortunately, the sessions have been cancelled due to heating costs. It will, though, resume in April so look for more info then.

It is a great way to hone your artistic skills, drawing from a live model, so if you want to come on down, to draw with various mediums, listen to some fine music, and indulge in great ambience, please do stop by this Spring. (See my model page for more details about my professional modeling status.)  Monika Agnello is the liaison, so contact her for that. Their web site is currently under construction, but you can reach her at monika@monikaagnello.com

Hope to see you there, so bring your mediums along!

Thank you for stopping by, and please do look at my other pages. Go to my Modeling Page for updated information on various locales where I will be modeling, for a wealth of exceptional and talented artists.

Our Wedding Day! 11/11/11, at 11:11am, down in Scituate.

Hello! In other great news, we finally got married! Yes, Julie and I got married in Scituate, on 11/11/11, at 11:11am! So we are finally a couple, and could not be happier! It was a rather simple affair, along the coast, and it was a nice day to indulge our spirits in our nuptials.

This painting, and the first three below are something wholly different than my landscapes.

I painted these on old cut up doors, discarded from some house going through demolition. They were cut and piled along the curb, so I took them home and decided to use them as a canvas.

Doors have many connotations, of dreams and worlds that are both open and closed to you. "If the doors of perception were cleansed everything would appear to man as it is, infinite." A line from William Blake's, 'The Marriage of Heaven and Hell', and also the title given to Aldous Huxley's visionary tome.

What gnosis is contained within these doors, what hidden history lurks in every crevice, every crack, every peel of ancient paint?

I have painted these in the impasto style, and the surface is very pronounced, undulating along the natural rhythm of the wood and design. I have left the old paint visible here and there, and so a semblance of its decades-old facade remains.
